The state bank of India Chairman Arundhati battacharya had insisted that the Public sector banks should be allowed to select the students of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) and Indian Institute of Management (IIM).
She had told that: “The Supreme had recently banned the Public sector banks to conduct the campus interview and to select the students of the IIT and IIM. The Supreme Court had ordered to select the students only through the advertisement.
The Government was spending lot of money to develop the IIT’s and IIM’s. Many of the outstanding students are coming out of these Institutes. They will be helpful for the growth of the banks.
The IIT’s and the IIM’s are created with the help of the tax collected from the Public. But our country was mentioning that the government banks should not select the students coming out of these Institutes. I do not know what to say about this”.
Because of this there was a lot of difference was found in the activities of the Public sector banks and the private banks. In this situation also , the public sector banks are working better. When public sector banks are allowed to select the students of IIM and IIT, there performance will increase to the higher level.
