The high court had cancelled the rule of selecting the teachers based only on the list that was received from the Employment office.
The five persons named as Vimalraj, Joseph, Thomas Richard who had completed the Secondary teacher training had filed an appeal in the High court that:
We had completed the Teacher training in the year 2006-08. The exam for the Teacher positions was conducted based on the seniority in registering in the employment office. We are affected because of this. This government rule of selecting the Teachers based only on the list that was collected from the employment office was against the law. This should be banned.
All the above was mentioned in the Petition.
The Judges Paul vasanthakumar, P.R.Sivakumar had investigated the petition and they had made an order that: Even though the list was got from the employment office, the selection should be carried out by giving advertisement one of the largest selling local language news paper.
We are accepting the petition by considering the orders made by the Supreme Court and the Chennai High court. We are ordering that the rule of selecting the teachers based only on the list that was collected from the employment office will not be valid.
According to the ordered that was released by the High court division bench on last year june, the selection should be based on the applications that are received by giving advertisement and also from the list that was collected from the employment office.
