The Vice Chancellor Kalyani had informed that “Online exams will be conducted in the Madurai Kamarajar University distance education program from January”.
She had informed in the university Senat Meeting: The ‘E-Learning’ method was recently introduced in the distance education program. More than 1600 e-books were used in this. Because of this method the expenses involved in writing the subjects, printing and postage expenses will be reduced.
The ‘Online conference’ facility was also introduced; because of this the students and the teachers can have conversation with each other.
The Syllabus for the undergraduate and the post graduate courses through the distance education program was prepared through the e learning method. This will come to practice from the year 2015. 40% percent objective questions will be asked in the exam. The research lab for the disctance education and also the ATM Facility has also been started. This year many multi crore plans will be introduced in different fields of the university.
The Registrar Rajasekar had preceded this meeting, the Syndicate member’s Kannan, Periya karuppan, Pichumani, Ramakrishnan had also participated in this meeting. During the discussion of this meeting the senat members Santha, Muthumanickam, Chandrasekar had mentioned about the development works of the university.
The Member Nehru had informed that “The graduate representative election was still not conducted. Because of this we are not able to discuss about the ideas of the graduates in the Senat Meeting”. The Syndicate member Kannan had replied to this “we had sent the recommendation letter related to this to the higher education secretary, when the government Co operates in this issue , we will conduct the exam”.
