There is a chance for increasing the cut off mark in Engineering and Medical courses this year.
The result for 12th standard students was announced on 9th-may-2014.The application for medical courses (MBBS, BDS) have been issued from 11th-may-2014.Then, for the Engineering course (BE, B.Tech) the application issuing process has been going on now.
Cut off mark is calculated for the students who wish to join professional courses such as Engineering, medical, veterinary and agricultural courses
This academic year, wide number of 12th standard students got 200 out of 200 in Physics subject. Total number of students who got centum in Physics subject are 2710 but last year it was only 36. When compared to last academic year, huge number of students got centum this year and it is more than three times than the previous year.
As like Physics subject, more number of students got centum in Chemistry subject also. The number of students who got 200 out of 200 in Chemistry subject are 1693, last year 1499 students got 200 out of 200.
the number of students got 200 out of 200 in mathematics are 3882. Last year 2352 students got full marks.
As per the whole analysis, the majority of students got centum in Physics subject when compared to the Mathematics and Chemistry. Due to this reason there may be chance for increase in cut-off mark for engineering field when compared to the last year.

Expected increase: Between 200 to 190 it may increase up to 0.5, between 185 to 190 expected mark increase is 1 mark and below 180 expected cut off increase is 2 marks.
Educationists opinions: For reputed colleges cut off mark may increase up to 0.25 mark, At the same time cut off mark for 3rd and 4th level colleges may reduce than last year because interest for engineering courses among students is reduced this year.
This year more number of students got 200 out of 200 mark in Physics and Chemistry subject. Unlike these subjects students who got 200 out of 200 in Biology subject is almost similar to that of last year. So cut off mark for medical courses may remain almost same as like the last year.
