UPCAT Dental stands for Uttar Pradesh Common Admission Test Dental. It is an entrance test conducted in Uttar Pradesh. The purpose of the test is for joining the most suitable candidates for dental course i.e. Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS).
This test is an entrance test which is conducted at national level. The candidates clearing this entrance test are eligible for admission into dental course that is Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS). This entrance test is conducted by the Association of Private Medical and Dental colleges of Uttar Pradesh.

The candidate must be 17 years old to attend this exam. The admission eligibility is he or she should have passed 12th examination and should have obtained 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology from any recognized board. In case of scheduled castes and scheduled tribes the percentage in subjects Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together be 40 % instead of 50 % as mentioned above. Suppose the candidate who has appeared for the qualifying exam but the result of it has not been declared can also appear for this entrance examination but during the admission to the BDS course, he has to meet all the criteria for eligibility.
